The Sansula Basic kalimba is mounted on a cellulose skin. DaDurch it gets a full sound space that carries the tones for a long time. The thin cellulose skin is very stable in itself. However, in contrast to Sansula Renaissance, it can be broken, torn by e.g. a fall or improper handling by children. The manufacturer Hokema exchanges the skin at any time for you, or upgraded it with a Remo drum skin to an unbreakable Sansula Renaissance.

Traditionally, the Kalimba (Zanza, Mbira, Nsansi, thumb piano) is the instrument of South African storytellers. The player enchants through dreamlike sounds and melodies even completely without knowledge of notes and music.

The renowned manufacturer, Peter Hokema, invented this instrument in 2001 and developed it in a quality that makes both sound and handling and aesthetics in its highest form to experience. With the processing of the best materials, the meanwhile five models of the Sansula are perfected. Hokema sets the highest standards here.
