Date: July 06 - 07, 2024
You would like to build a large powwow drum, or what some people now call a mother drum. The powwow drum is still a meeting drum among the indigenous peoples. It calls the tribe together. Its steady beat accompanies festivals and large ceremonies.
Many drummers beat to the same calm rhythm. Its sound connects all people and is like the heartbeat of Mother Earth.
Connecting with the heartbeat of Mother Earth has inspired people to use these drums for healing. Behind this is the great desire to reconnect us humans with our great Mother Earth. The sound of the drum reminds us. We feel the strong vibration and the all-encompassing sound. We feel ourselves, connect with our own heart. We experience our roots, how we become one and part of the great universe.
We say thank you to Mother Earth and to ourselves. This is where healing can happen.
Building drums together and being together in nature deepens and strengthens this connection.
Location
17129 Alt Tellin, Hohenbüssow 28
Hohenbüssow is a small village in the vast landscape of the Tollensetal valley,south-eastof Demmin. Hohenbüssow brings a lot of things together: The connection with nature and the original village life. The hilly landscape with the nearby beech forest invites you to go for a walk and if you walk a little further, you can take a refreshing dip in the Tollense.
It's a good place where you can immerse yourself in nature and relax. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you will find the leisure and the spirit to create your ritual drum in the pristine natural surroundings.

Procedure
On the first day, after a ritual walk in nature, you will come into contact with your chosen animal skin and frame drum.
You have already chosen the size of your drum frame with your registration. You will be given a stable and sonorous cattle skin or, if we can make it possible, a horse skin. For this we need an early pre-order to get such a skin. Please feel free to contact us.
The frame is sanded and oiled on the same day. The hide is prepared and soaked in water.
The hide and frame are brought together over the entire second day.
Our craftsmanship is integrated into a special time. We take a break from our everyday lives, immerse ourselves in wild nature and connect with the forces of the elements.
The end of this day determines the completion. Depending on our craftsmanship and the flow of our time together, we will certainly not part until the evening.
Allow yourself the time to do so.
The drum will dry during the week.
The following Sunday we will consecrate the drums in a ritual. This is the initiation and birth of the drum.
I look forward to your questions and registration
